The Village of Baltimore has newly revised zoning rules and regulations, fee schedules and zoning permit forms. For information, please call the Village office at (740) 862-4491.
Zoning permits are required when a building or structure is being built, moved, added to, or altered. Contact the Village and Zoning Administrator at 740-862-4491 for an appointment to obtain a zoning permit prior to beginning construction on any of the following structures:
- Single Family Residential Unit
- Multi Family Residential Unit
- Commercial, Office or Industrial Unit
- Building Addition
- Inground Swimming Pool
- Satellite Dish Antenna
- Wireless Telecommunication Facility
All fees shall be paid at the time the application is made.

- Certificate of Occupancy
- Simple Lot Split
- Accessory Uses
- Conditional Uses
- Zoning Changes
- Residential Subdivisions

New Rules for Weeds and Grass
Legislation was passed in May 2017 addressing high grass and weeds within the Village. This ordinance states weed and grass height cannot exceed 8 inches in height. Costs, fines and assessments are outlined in the ordinance as well as other penalties which could include the filing of a criminal complaint in Village Mayor’s Court if the terms of the ordinance are violated.
