On September 14 and September 25, 2017, Village officials met with a representative from Layne to discuss iron bacteria remediation. Beginning on October 2, 2017, the Village’s wells will be sampled and the iron bacteria cultured. Culturing the bacteria takes approximately two weeks, after which Village officials and Layne will again meet to discuss the best way to proceed with cleaning the wells based on the test results. The wells will then be cleaned which takes approximately one week per well. This updated information is being submitted to the Ohio EPA, with whom we’ve been working throughout this issue.
As more information regarding the remediation plan is available, it will be posted on the Village website.
